History:

Arcata Cottage was built in 2003-2004 by Bill and Marilyn Andrews.  The general contactor was Timothy Royer of Arcata.  Ground was broken in the fall of 2003, and the buildling was completed in July of 2004.  It has fir framing, cedar siding and an asphalt shingle roof.  It is located within the limits of the City of Arcata, and is hooked up to city utilities.  It has two off-street parking places.

Arcata Cottage has approximately 800 square feet of enclosed space.  The central living area, which is on the back side of the house away from the street, has 10 foot ceilings and a gas log fireplace at the eastern end.  The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster oven, blender, pots and pans, serving bowls, and 8 place settings of dishes and cutlery.  The bathroom has a green tiled shower.  The bedroom has a double bed, and a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and shelving for storage.  There is a small foyer by the front door for coats and shoes.

Floors in the living area and bedroom are grade #2 oak tongue and groove with a smooth finish.  Floors in the kitchen, bathroom and entryway are linoleum.
